Our passion for crafting exquisite, one-of-a-kind cabinets began in 1961, and we have since established ourselves as a premier destination for top-tier and upscale clientele seeking exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Our Heritage
Humble Beginnings
Harris Cabinet Design began when Gary Harris took a chance on himself. In 1969, on his first day with Jack Campbell, he put a base shoe on a whole room in 1/2 of a day with no prior experience. Jack said he was the best he had ever seen. From 1969 to 1972, he spent all of his time working for him and realized that he was talented enough to start his own company.
Harris Construction was established in the garage of his house using nothing but a table saw, sander, and hammer. While Harris Construction was trim, Gary learned how to build cabinets while at job sites. It wasn’t long before he built and installed cabinets for some of the locals and the reviews were stellar. It wasn’t until his son Bart started working for him in 1999 and insisted that the company should transition into only making cabinets.

Step by Step
1. Concierge
The journey begins with our Concierge team. When you express interest in learning more about how we can transform your home, we will connect you with one of our talented designers or our owner Bart Harris. They will personally guide you through the design and tailoring process to ensure your vision becomes a reality.
2. Consultation
When you meet with one of our owners or designers, they can assist in offering inspiration, advice, and guidance as you express your desires for the project. You can experience examples of our work at our showroom- or at your invitation, we would be delighted to visit you at your current or future residence. Together you will start exploring the endless amount of possibilities letting your imagination do the work to find the perfect fit for you.
3. Divinely designed by YOU
No one project is the same at Harris Cabinet Design. No matter the dimensions, we are able to find what you will be excited to show off. We have developed and evolved for almost 45 years to make your everyday life easier and a little more luxurious.
From the first pencil sketch, each design component is carefully considered, bespoke to your taste and space. These concepts are transformed into technical product designs, uniting aesthetics, innovation, and function to achieve the ultimate harmony in your home. Once a 3D design is in place, our designers create a template using Augmented Reality to help you visualize exactly what your space will look like. With each piece crafted, you will only see the world’s finest core materials.
4. Materials and Techniques
Breathe life, personality, and peace into your space. Choose from the world’s finest materials, and create a space where everyone feels at home. Precious timbers and rare veneers like white oak, flame birch, to tiger maple, we will find the perfect finish to turn your dreams into reality.
Unique techniques and cutting-edge machinery deliver breathtaking artistry. Premium accents give every piece a unique identity – steel or brass inlay, jewelry store felt drawers to show off your precious jewelry, mesh wine lockers, or Lalique glass panels. The possibilities are endless. The finishing touch is selecting your hardware which is limitless in design and function
5. Commission
When you are ready to commission your project, we prepare a series of detailed technical drawings that our craftsmen use to make your cabinets and furniture. Only once you are completely satisfied with your design is when production begins.
6. Craft and creation
Ideas and daydreams become reality, handcrafted with obsessive care by our detailed craftsmen. Our workshop in Amsterdam, Missouri is a center of creativity, where we combine technology and 300-year-old cabinet-making techniques to ensure exceptional quality for every piece of wood that is tailored and delivered.
7. Installation
Your vision is finally a reality. After final checks, our skilled delivery men handle and install your cabinets along with a team of 3-5 ensuring that every space and piece of hardware is precisely placed to your qualifications. Our installers and deliverers share the same mission as our founder, Gary Harris. Demanding excellence in every aspect and settling for nothing less.

These guys have been the absolute best! The design team is amazingly knowledgeable. They really listen and work hard to make sure you get what you want even when you’re not sure what you want lol! They think of details that never would have crossed my mind. The best part is the quality of the finished product. I’ve used them for two projects so far and both times the builds were beyond my expectations. It’s truly heirloom quality and you can tell they go above and beyond on the tiniest detail.
